About Dopamine Darling
A Website Chronicling Life Through Mental Illness and Addiction
“Where am I? What is this place? How did I get here?” I find myself asking that question a lot. I don’t know how you got here but I can tell you where you are and what I do here. Welcome to Dopamine Darling, I’m Darling, I own and run this website (you can read more about me here.) I created this site after getting an outpouring of support after I had a nervous breakdown and privately documented my journey. I was told sharing my story publicly with the world could help somebody, so I took the dive and copied all my private posts to this blog.
Now I blog about many topics including addiction, mental illness, neurodivergence, chronic illness, chronic pain, eating disorders, trauma, and more. I hope to have this blog be a place that other people can share their story as well! If you have a story you’d like to share look into being a guest blogger or additional author, I am accepting guest posts.
I can’t pinpoint this blog as just an addiction blog, mental illness blog, trauma blog, eating disorder blog, neurodivergence blog, etc. because I write about whatever comes to mind, and I welcome anyone who has a story to share to write here.
The reason I started this site and decided to share my story is so people who are struggling could feel less alone, or so someone could maybe understand these topics better, or even for just the curious who want a look into someone else’s life. I also wanted to give an open space for people to write about whatever they want the world to know.
So, welcome. I hope you enjoy looking around and reading the stories shared here.
